Joey Garfola is an Executive Advisory Board Member with About The Kids Foundation. A proud father of two, Joey brings a global reputation with 15 years of Senior Executive and Military level experience from Blizzard Entertainment, Alphabet / Google Inc., SAIC, United States Department of Defense in Global Technology Operations, Network Engineering, Corporate Risk Manager, Global Consumer & Service Delivery Operations Manager, Global Security Operations Manager, Chief of Information Assurance and Chief of Security Data Center.
Joey is a Distinguished Global Technology matter expert and is a frequent guest speaker and panelist, particularly in the areas of Global Security, Cyber Security, and Information Delivery Service.
Currently, Joey is a Senior Director of Technology and Operations at Blizzard Entertainment. He is renowned for being a founding member of the Technology Operations group, and primary leader for all internationalized technology for Blizzard Entertainment, including the production and corporate networks for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Joey brings over 15 years of experience in operations and defense logistics. Joey served as the Fiber Chief of Staff for Network Engineering and Operations with Alphabet Inc., Manager of the Corporate Risk and Global Security Operations with Google, the Joint Logistics Integrator and Chief of Information Assurance with Science Applications International Corporation, and the Network Operations and Security Center Chief for the United States Department of Defense. Joey has created a global reputation as a leader in the development of corporate risk management and consumer operations.
Joey earned his Master’s Certification Program in Six Sigma at Villanova University, following his Bachelor of Arts in International Law with a Business Cognate and a Minor in Economics. Joey also has received certification for Server and Network Management, A+, Cryptography, and Sociology with the Marine Corps School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton, California.
During Joey’s distinguished military career, he received two meritorious promotions for exceptional performance in military duties, along with eight campaign medals and ribbons, while serving for his country in four international deployments. He continued to proudly serve his community through various endeavors including the Toys for Tots program, Chair of the US Kuwait Golf Club, VetNet workshops for Veterans, and most recently hosting Tech Talks on thought leadership and operationalizing a global workforce.
